Coughing, Spluttering and Keeping It On

Two professional women: both married with kids and both juggling clients, reports, potty training, packed lunches, chores, dogs, cats, errands, husbands and …”what was that you said? SEX?”
That three-letter word that once was so frequent, so liberating, so yummy has been sidelined in a sea of life, work and snot.
It is time.
Time to put sex back on a pedestal by injecting some extra spice into our relationships.

Some women say their libido’s soar during pregnancy.  Well lucky for them.  I think pregnancy is the most amazing thing and is a pure miracle of life, but feeling sexy and wanting to go at “it” with my protruding belly and feeling exhausted by the time the clock chimes 8PM, is not a recipe for sexual abandon.  Throw in a virus and there is really no hope.

Whilst Miss. Lee was gyrating her sexy ass to Mr. Lee, I was retreating to our bedroom on a nightly basis, not with a neglige and a suggestive dance routine, but with a hacking smoker-like cough, packet of Kleenex and a course of antibiotics.  The Duke took one look at me and didn’t even suggest “it”.   Five nights in with excess saliva drooling from my mouth and red-rimmed eyes, I asked him if he had taken a lover yet?  He derisively harrumphed at me and walked out of the bedroom.  I take that as a “no”.

So did I take it all off?  No.

Did I manage to extricate a truck load of phlegm and gunk from my lungs?  Yes.

Despite all this, does the Duke still think I am pretty?  Apparently so.

Another miracle of life.  I am one lucky Duchess.
